Toast To Donate

Onyx Group is participating in the 2009 Big Bend Start! Heart Walk event that will be held Saturday, October 17th at Tom Brown Park. We have pledged to raise $2,500 to support the event and the American Heart Association.

In an effort to raise awareness for the American Heart Association's Heart Walk Event and to help us reach our goal we will be hosting the “Toast To Donate” Heart Walk event at The Winery @ The Red Bar, 1122 Thomasville Road, on Wednesday, September 23rd from 5:30 to 8:30pm. Our event will include a wine tasting of four wines selected by The Winery and hors d'oeuvres. The $25 ticket includes entrance into the event as well as one complimentary ticket for our raffle. Extra raffle tickets will be available at the event for one dollar each or four dollars for the purchase of five tickets.

The raffle prizes include:

Boot Camps To Go has donated a free month of boot camp valued at $130.
Synergy Salon is providing a gift basket that includes products and a gift certificate for $25 in services.

Charities Heating Up

June has not only been a busy month in the office for Onyx Group staffers, but also around the community as charitable efforts are becoming more apparent. Participating in both the 2009 Big Bend Start! Heart Walk and Big Bend March of Dimes events in the coming weeks the Onyx team has been charging throughout town looking for donations and are right on pace to reach their goals.

“It’s so easy to get caught up in our own lives in and out of work, but working hard for good causes like the Heart Walk and March of Dimes gives me a chance to give back to the community,” said Nick Williams

Big Bend Heart Walk

Onyx Group will be participating in the 2009 Big Bend Start! Heart Walk this October. We have pledged to raise $2,500 for the American Heart Association and we need your help!

Heart related health issues have touched most of our lives in one way or another: heart disease and stroke are the nations number 1 and number 3 killers respectively. You can do your part to fight heart disease by donating your time or money to Onyx Group. By clicking the link below, you can donate by credit card or PayPal now, or sign up to be a member of the Onyx Group Heart Walk Team. Participants who join the Onyx Group team and help us get to our goal of $2,500 will receive a special edition Onyx Group Heart Walk t-shirt designed by our Uber Doodler, Kris Carter.

In January 2008, the Centers for Disease Center (CDC) release new mortality data which shows that, since 1999, coronary heart disease and stroke age-adjusted death rates are down by 25.8 percent and 24.4 percent, respectively.
