The Client
Onyx Group contracted with the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation to help a client become self-employed in a career that was meaningful. Vocational Rehabilitation aims to get people with disabilities back into the workforce. The client knew that she wanted to establish a commercial cleaning company. The goal was for Onyx to create a strategic plan, brand and website design that could help her reach her goals of entrepreneurship. The client had no prior business experience, and before this venture she was on government assistance because of a disability. However, because she believes in doing her best to better the community, she did not let anything stop her from starting her own business.
The Challenge
Onyx Group worked with the Sweeps team to develop the brand, graphic design, strategic plan, and website design for their team. Onyx Group also helped to create brochures, business cards, and stationery for the Sweeps Commercial Cleaning team. Onyx Group used design as a tool to create a dynamic new company that could be successful breaking into the saturated commercial cleaning industry. The goal was to help the Sweeps team raise awareness for their company and to create a unified look and feel.
The Design
The colors: The color palette was chosen to provide attention-getting detail to the industry. The lime green and blue that were chosen help to give the company a youthful and fun feel. It is important to use colors that draw in an audience while also keeping them at ease. Cleanliness is a part of everyday life, so it is key to use colors that all types of people will find appealing.
The image: The brand logo has a picture of a broom to go along with the new tagline, “More than just a broom.” The website images coincide with the new brand logo so that it is an altogether consistent look. Choosing a logo for a company is always hard to do, but it is worth the trouble because it becomes the ‘face’ of the company. Choosing a broom to represent a cleaning company is the perfect way to showcase what the Sweeps company embodies.
The Content
There are plenty of cleaning companies out there, but none with such an innovative design behind their company. It is not always easy to find someone you trust to come into your space, so creating a brand that instills trust was vital. The website as well as the business cards and brochures all create a fun and lighthearted aesthetic. The tagline, “More than just a broom” sums up the idea behind the Sweeps team. The content of the website connects on an emotional level by creating a relaxed environment for the viewer to browse through all of the information.
