GFVGA

Re-brand, Website Design

The Client

The Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (GFVGA), based in LaGrange, Georgia, provides programs that are designed to increase production efficiencies, provide educational opportunities, promote new markets, monitor legislation, encourage applied research and improve communications among GFVGA members and industry suppliers. GFVGA’s mission is to represent the expansive fruit and vegetable industry that exists in Georgia. Onyx Group worked with the GFVGA to help them find a new way to build and maintain membership, advertise their annual conference, provide information about farmer’s markets and provide food safety information.

The Challenge

Onyx Group worked to re-brand GFVGA and to create a new website design for them. The goal behind the new brand for GFVGA was to use design elements to maintain the “down-home” feel that GFVGA had already created. GFVGA works hard to provide nutritious fruits and vegetables to the Georgia community. It is essential for them to have a unified appearance and strong message so that they may have a better community reach.

The Design

The colors: The graphic design team used earth tone colors to relate back to GFVGA’s deep roots in Georgia Agriculture. The new brand and logo consists of green and brown, which is also the color scheme used for the website. The blue on the website is a nice contrast to the darker greens and browns. The light blue also allows for a friendly feel on the website.

The image: The most fitting image for a growers association would be a farm, which is the new website’s background image. The new brand logo is sprout leaves coming out of the ground. Showing growth like this in the logo and on the website is the perfect way to portray GFVGA’s new plan for expansion.

The Content

Onyx Group completely revamped GFVGA’s website to give it a new, fresh look. The website coincided with the re-branding project to give GFVGA a unified look and feel. Onyx Group created a user-friendly website with prominent features such as membership information, upcoming meetings/events, and food safety issues. The new site offers quick access to educational opportunities and even student scholarships.

The Results

The new website and brand offer a fresh design that evokes the spirit GFVGA is working to represent. With easy access tabs and helpful information, the site helps to reach a wide variety range of audiences.
